<\/span>Stan was crucial in my development throughout my four years as an Ontario Hockey League goaltender with the Plymouth Whalers. I continue to keep in contact with Stan and still attend his Bandits Goalie School summer camps in the off-season. He taught me the key components to goaltending while focusing on the little things. Stan works tirelessly at nailing down the fundamentals. He explains techniques such as total ice awareness and the importance of the mental aspects of being a goalie. I know that I would not have been drafted by the New Jersey Devils if I had not learned how to become a professional both on and off the ice with the dedicated coaching provided by Stan Matwijiw.<\/span><\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t

<\/span>Stan\u2019s philosophy and teaching methods at Bandits are exactly what most goalies need. Stan is dedicated and committed towards teaching and improving goalies. He knows the fundamentals of goal keeping as well as any goalie coach I know. Stan is a successful goalie coach, not only because he played the position at a high level, but because he also understands the position, and has a passion to teach and the skills to communicate with young goalies. He is in complete touch with today\u2019s goal keeping and his \u201cPoints of Emphasis\u201d are a must in learning the fundamentals of playing goal today.<\/span><\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t

<\/span>Bandits is the main reason why I’ve been able to play at the level that I’m at today. The demand for hard-work, along with the dedication that each of the instructors brings makes them the best goalie school I’ve ever been to, period. They focuses on game situation drills that are suited for my overall style. It’s these little things that can be easily overlooked by most coaches but not Bandits. Improving all aspects of my game is my priority to play at my best day in and day out. Bandits helps me accomplish this with three simple letters, H.A.P. <\/span>Being traded to the Plymouth Whalers was one of the greatest things for my hockey career. During my time there I was able to learn and evolve my game thanks to Stan! He was a huge part of me going from a backup to a starter. We spent hours after games going over every situation and save techniques. Seeing all the work he put in, on and off the ice, made you want to work that much harder.
