I have been working with Bandits Goalie School since 2001. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them. I have not only learned in game fundamentals from BGS but more importantly life skills to become the best I can be on the ice as well as an outstanding citizen off the ice. Stan was crucial in my development throughout my four years as an Ontario Hockey League goaltender with the Plymouth Whalers. I continue to keep in contact with Stan and still attend his Bandits Goalie School summer camps in the off-season. He taught me the key components to goaltending while focusing on the little things. Stan works tirelessly at nailing down the fundamentals. He explains techniques such as total ice awareness and the importance of the mental aspects of being a goalie. I know that I would not have been drafted by the New Jersey Devils if I had not learned how to become a professional both on and off the ice with the dedicated coaching provided by Stan Matwijiw.

Bandits Goalie School has taught me many integral attributes of what it takes to be a highly competitive athlete. I’ve been with Bandits since 1999 and its helped me immensely in shaping my game and giving me a foundation to help my work ethic grow. It’s not just about technique with Bandits but a lifestyle that helps myself progress as a person and athlete on and off the ice each day.

Bandits is by far the best goalie camp that I’ve ever been apart of. The training on and off the ice is top notch. Everyday the coaches push you to make you better while having fun and competitive environment. I would recommend Bandits to any goaltender looking to raise their game to the next level.

I met Stan and his staff when I was 12 years old at my first Bandits Goalie School summer camp. I’ve trained with them almost every summer since then. Bandits pushes you to be your best mentally and physically when you’re with them. Their instructors attention to detail is second to none and they will always remind you to have a purpose in everything you do. Stan and his staff have played a big role in helping me get to where I am at today

Bandits is the main reason why I’ve been able to play at the level that I’m at today. The demand for hard-work, along with the dedication that each of the instructors brings makes them the best goalie school I’ve ever been to, period. Without the skills and knowledge that Stan and his staff have taught me, I would not be playing in the OHL today.

Being traded to the Plymouth Whalers was one of the greatest things for my hockey career. During my time there I was able to learn and evolve my game thanks to Stan! He was a huge part of me going from a backup to a starter. We spent hours after games going over every situation and save techniques. Seeing all the work he put in, on and off the ice, made you want to work that much harder. I can’t thank him enough for pushing me each and every day, because I know without him I wouldn’t be where I am today! A great friend, person and coach! H.A.P.
